Who we are?
The ALYATIM Association for orphans is a non-profit organization created in November 2015 in Quebec (NEQ 1171290639).
The strong commitment of the Alyatim team and the donations collected in the first year enabled the association to give a smile and a lot of hope back to some thirty orphans. Today, thanks to the various donors and volunteers, Alyatim continues to actively involve itself in the lives of orphans, offering them the future and childhood they deserve.
Our mission and vision
The mission of the Alyatim association for orphans is to alleviate the poverty of destitute orphan children. The association collects donations and sends them to the orphans.
Anything that helps to improve the lives of orphans is part of the association’s mission, such as promoting their education, health, and social status. The association operates wherever there is a need to help orphans.
Our objectives

To alleviate poverty in Morocco by providing the essentials of life, including food, drinking water and electricity, to individuals and families living in poverty, on low incomes or in need, and to orphans.

Promote health by providing medical services, including eye examinations, medical supplies and equipment, to poor, low-income and needy individuals and families, and to orphans.

Promote education in Morocco by providing books, materials and teaching aids to schools, as well as setting up and running an ongoing tutoring program, preventing school drop-out and paying, in part or in full, the school fees of Moroccan orphans.
Why Alyatim?
The ALYATIM Association for Orphans is designed on the basis of innovative systems, as opposed to traditional systems of proceeding in the field of aid to orphaned children. Indeed, it represents a radical change in mentality in the way aid is conceived and channeled to destitute orphans.
This means that aid to orphans is not limited to meeting short-term needs but takes a holistic, integrated approach to ensuring continuity of service and guiding children toward a better future.
Our approach

Source selection and rigorous evaluation of sponsorship applications

Direct assessment in the field to ensure compliance of applications with DOE requirements

Direct forwarding of donations received in complete security and transparency to the people in charge of the orphans

Concern for improving the environment in which the sponsored person lives (e.g. relocation in the case of insalubrious housing, help with installing water, electricity, etc.).

On-site monitoring by dedicated supervisors to ensure that donations are being put to good use, and to check on the situation of sponsored employees (state of health, school results, etc.).

Ongoing communication and involvement of sponsors in the progress of sponsored children

Soliciting other types of help from professional volunteers (teachers, doctors, pharmacists, etc.).

Takeover of vacant areas not covered by any other resource
