Together, let’s save little Mohammed Amine’s eyesight
Context
Mohammed Amine, a 12-year-old orphan from southern Morocco sponsored by the Alyatim association, lost the use of his right eye in a tragic accident. The project involves replacing the damaged eye with a prosthesis so that the child can overcome the physical consequences of his condition and avoid infection of the other eye and total loss of sight.
Project stages
- Medial evaluation by an ophthalmologist
- Perform an operation to remove the diseased eye
- Cavity preparation
- Installation of the artificial eye (prosthesis)
- Medical follow-up
Actions
The Alyatim association set up a team of dedicated volunteers in Morocco and Canada to make this project a reality and to install an ocular prosthesis for Mohammed Amine.
The volunteers then committed to :
- Organize a fundraising event
- Make appointments with specialists
- Get in touch with laboratories
- Supporting Mohammed Amine and his family throughout the process
- Providing transport and accommodation for Mohammed Amine and his family
- Medical follow-up
Results
